Koninginnendag / Vrijmarkt

This can be regarded as THE Dutch national celebration. The queen visits one ore more citys this day. In some major citys a free marked takes place in which ordenary people can sell their old stuff or  do a performance or just make fun.

Location. Throughout the Netherlands.

A big multi cultural event in June. One can listen to word music, try food from abroad or visit workshops.

Location Tilburg (1.5 hours by train from Amsterdam).

Visit concerts featuring early music and baroque, played by the worlds famous orchestras.

Location Utrecht, 0.5 hours by train from Amsterdam.

Hollands most famous amusement parc, featuring the fairy tales of famous european writers (Grimm, Andersson).
