Foundation

The Khejri Sarvodaya Health and Eye care Centre was founded in 1995 as the Khejri Sarvodaya Trust in Jaipur, India to contribute to the well being of the sick and marginalized people in the Jaipur area. This charitable clinic has attended to at least one hundred patients a day on a highly subsidized basis. The appreciable growth of the Indian economy, has, as of yet not improved the living standard for many people in the rural and urban slum areas.

A new Health centre

In the following years, due to increased demand for healthcare and basic treatment of diseases, the Health Centre needed expansion. In 1999, the Health Centre moved to a new building, expanding it's capacity. The building provided space for several treatment rooms as well as a modern equipped laboratory. Also a mobile facility was added to provide nearby villages with medical check-ups and health education.

In 2006, however, the Khejri Sarvodaya Health centre had to be partly removed for the construction of a expressway in Jaipur. This happened only 7 years after the opening of the building. So years of investments in the health for the poorest was lost. However the health centre was kept in business on a smaller scale.

Present activities

On 1st January 2009 the Khejri Sarvodaya Trust handed over all assets of the Khejri Health Centre to the Jaipur World City Society. A complete eye care centre was also added. Therefore the name of the Khejri Sarvodaya Trust was changed into Khejri Sarvodaya Health and Eye care Centre. The medical service and health education service was extended by opening an evening clinic.
The response to our services has remained very good, but on account of various reasons the income to deliver these services went down considerably. We, therefore, appeal to you to continue your support to us, so that we may continue to serve those most in need.
